“We have invited all of Year 11 to come into school on Monday afternoon so that they can meet together and share memories of Caitlin,” she said.

“We will also offer them support and advice at this time in advance of their official return to school on Tuesday.”

She added staff and pupils are struggling to come to terms with the loss of the popular Caitlin.

“Her loss is felt throughout the school community,” said Mrs Cresswell.

“We have been touched by the many messages of sympathy and support received and have been in regular contact with the family to offer our support to them.”

Caitlin, of Skircoat Green, Halifax, was a passenger in a Toyota RAF4 which crashed into a tree on the A83, a notorious accident blackspot, a few miles east of Inveraray, near Dundergave Castle, Scotland, on Saturday, October 26.
