Bus route diversions and stops missed as roads in and around Sowerby Bridge are closed
A couple of road closures are currently in place in and around Sowerby Bridge that are impacting a Team Pennine bus service.
Hubberton Green Road is closed to allow for works by Yorkshire Water to take place.
Team Pennine shared: “Hubberton Green Road is closed due to roadworks.
“577 bus will be diverting via Well Head Lane.
“Stops missed: Sowerby Torpe Place, Sowerby Hubberton Green and Sowerby Rooley Lane (NE Bound).
“This is in place until July 27.
“We apologise for any inconvenience.”
That same bus service is also facing diversions from a road closure further along the route.
Work on Sowerby New Road is part of Yorkshire Water’s £4.5million project to replace around 11km of clean water pipes in Sowerby Bridge.
Team Pennine shared: “Due to the closure of Sowerby New Road, the 577 is diverting.
“Stops missed: Kingdom Hall, Olivia Street, Montague Street, Cemetary Lane, Upper Gaukrodger & Sowerby New Road Fore Lane.
“Alternative stops: Sowerby Br Tesco and Quarry Hill.
“This is in place until further notice.
“We apologise for any inconvenience.”
For drivers the alternative route is via unaffected part of Sowerby New Road, Fore Lane, Quarry Hill and vice versa. Access will be maintained for residents.
