Calderdale gritters placed on standby with wintry showers forecast
Calderdale's highways team are preparing for a cold night with gritters put on standby.
Patrol gritters will be out monitoring conditions and treating roads as necessary overnight as wintry showers are possible on the high ground.
Here is what the Met Office has forecast for tonight and the coming days.
Tonight - A cold and showery night with showers perhaps turning wintry over the Pennines at times. Drier and clearer in the east with frost forming for some. Becoming increasingly breezy. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Thursday - Mostly dry, bright and cold in the morning with plenty of sunny spells, although a few wintry showers remain possible over the Pennines. Becoming cloudier later with outbreaks of rain. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday - Friday to Sunday will remain unsettled and cold. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely, these perhaps heavy and turning wintry on hills and possibly to some low levels.
