Dangerous speedsters using the streets around Calderdale as a race track caught by police

Police officers responded to reports that cars were racing on streets in the Copley area.

On Friday November 27 Road Traffic Officers were in district when a report of came in about vehicles racing on Copley Valley Road, Sowerby Bridge.

Officers travelled to the area where an Audi S3 drove passed travelling in excess of 70mph in a 30mph zone.

The vehicle was stopped and a Section 59 warning was issued due to the manner of driving causing the residents harassment, alarm and annoyance.

The driver was also reported for driving without due care and attention and is set to appear in court.
