Deer hit by car in fast lane of M62

A deer has had to be destroyed after being severely injured on the M62 this morning (Wednesday).

The animal was hit in the fast lane during rush hour traffic. It was approximately one mile after Junction 23 (Huddersfield) when the collision occurred.

Police managed to get the severely wounded deer on to the hard shoulder, before the vet was called, but the deer could not be saved.

No people were injured during the incident.
