Driver seriously injured after crashing into tree in Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Leeds.

At about 7pm on Friday, April 10, a red Alfa Romeo Mito was travelling along the A647 Stanningley bypass towards Bradford, when it left the road close to Dawsons Corner roundabout and struck a tree.

The 41-year-old male driver was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head and back injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the movements of the vehicle prior to the collision, or the collision itself is asked to contact PC 863 Laybourne at the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support team on 101.
