Elland Bridge re-opens after serious crash closed the road for seven hours

Elland Bridge has been re-opened following a serious car crash this morning.

The crash this morning at 4.47am has seen surrounding roads closed caused disruption for commuters.

All the roads leading up to the bridge were closed including Saddleworth Road, Briggate, Park Road/Halifax Road and Exley Lane.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed that Bridgefield Mills was closed due to a serious road traffic collision involving one vehicle.

A number of police vehicles have been at the scene all the morning as they carry out their enquiries.

Calderdale Council confirmed just before lunchtime that Elland bridge has been re-opened.
