Family pays tribute to man who died after Todmorden crash with van

Officers were called at 10.30am on Saturday morning (May 9) to reports a van and cyclist had been in collision on Burnley Road at the junction with Church Road.

The cyclist named as Stephen White has died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

The family of the 56-year-old from Bolton issued the following statement via West Yorkshire Police.

“Stephen was a much loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many and will be terribly missed by all that knew him.”

A 35-year-old man from the Manchester area has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and being over the prescribed limit.

He has been released under investigation.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dash cam footage of the collision itself.
