Fire engine on emergency call collides with Mini

A woman had to be cut out of her Mini after it was in collision with a a fire engine responding to an incident elsewhere.

West Yorkshire Fire Service has launched an investigation after the incident, which happened on Aachen Way, Halifax, at 11.30am today (Tuesday)

The woman was taken to hospital, though her injuries were not thought to be serious. No fire service personal were injured.

A West Yorkshire Fire Service spokesperson said: “An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision will be carried out by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and police in due course.”

Another vehicle from Halifax Fire Station was sent to the original call out, assisted by an appliance from Elland.

Whilst fire engine personnel cut the woman from her vehicle, the A58 Aachen Way was left partially blocked causing tailbacks.
