This year’s event will be held at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, from 12.30pm on Tuesday, November 18 and will see all three emergency services join together to drive home the importance of taking care on the roads.

The theme for this year’s Road Safety Week (November 17 to 23), which is co-ordinated by charity Brake, is ‘Look out for each other’.

The message comes as statistics reveal that 26 people died in crashes attended by firefighters across West Yorkshire last year - two in Calderdale, whilst 508 people were taken to hospital - 26 in Calderdale.

Martyn Greenwood, district commander for Calderdale, said: “While the road safety roadshow is quite shocking, we believe it is essential in getting our messages across.”
