Crews from Brighouse, Elland and Cleckheaton attended the incident at the M62 services near Brighouse at 7.14am today.

A spokesman from Brighouse station said: “We attended reports of a HGV being on fire. When we arrived there couldn’t see anything. The driver had noticed some smoke while filling up the engine and moved his vehicle off the forecourt. He also took his trailer off as it was full with timber.

“We decided to remove the front of the cab and after a bit of investigation we found it was a blown turbo.”
