Network Rail, Northern and West Yorkshire Combined Authority are working together to carry out major improvements to Hebden Bridge station as part of the Great North Rail Project.
The first stage of the project begins on Friday (July 6) as Network Rail begin work to extend platform one by 56 metres to accommodate newer and longer trains which will call at the station.
In addition to the platform extensions, there will also be upgrades to track and signalling, which will create a more modern and more reliable railway.
Rob McIntosh, Route Managing Director at Network Rail, said: “This is a huge project of improvements at Hebden Bridge station which will bring significant benefits to station users.
“The first stage of work begins this week and we would like to thank passengers for their patience whilst this takes place.”
