Met Office issues ice warning ahead of Remembrance Sunday Services

Ahead of tomorrow’s Remembrance Sunday Services the Met Office has warned residents in Calderdale to be aware of the potential for ice.

With heavy rain showers expected tonight (Saturday) and falling temperatures, there is potential for ice to form making driving conditions hazardous.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “Following heavy showers, icy patches may form on some roads from Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

“The public should be aware of the risk of some minor disruption to travel, especially across northern England and the north east Midlands.”

Remembrance Sunday Services will take place in towns and villages across Calderdale, including Halifax, Brighouse, Bailiff Bridge, llingworth and Bradshaw, Northowram, Elland, Greetland, Rastrick, Sowerby Bridge, Luddenden Foot, Shelf, Ovenden & District, Rishworth, Ripponden and Barkisland, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Southowram, Siddal, Todmorden, Heptonstall and Blackshaw Head.
