Police appeal for witnesses after pedestrian and driver suffer injuries in car crash

Police officers in Calderdale are appealing for witnesses after a car hit a pedestrian in Halifax.

Officers were called at 8.51 yesterday morning (Tuesday January 5) to reports a car had been in collision with a pedestrian.

The red and black Renault Captur was travelling towards Halifax Town centre when it was in collision with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The driver of the Renault Captur a 73-year-old man was taken to Calderdale Royal hospital with serious injuries.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was seen in the area and emergency services were called to the incident

Officers would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam of the incident to come forward.
