Police issue appeal after M62 crash

Police have issued a witness appeal following a multi-vehicle crash on the M62.

Officers were called to the crash involving a number of vehicles near junction 23 (Outlane) of the M62 westbound shortly before 3.30pm on Monday.

It is believed that a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided with a white Scania refrigerated truck, which was stationary on the hard shoulder. Another white HGV then collided with the van.

No-one was seriously injured in the crash, although the van driver was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as a precaution.

Officers from the Western Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the HGV in the hard shoulder prior to the collision or the manner of driving of either of the other vehicles involved.
