Police on scene of 'serious' M62 collision

West Yorkshire Police are currently dealing with a 'serious traffic collision' on the M62.

The incident has occured eastbound near the M62 J25 Clifton Interchange.

The incident is causing heavy congestion at the turnoff towards Brighouse.

A post on Highways England's Twitter page, said: "Police are on scene with a serious traffic collision.

"We are currently sending all traffic off at J25 and back on again at the entry slip.

"If you are currently in the 'trapped' traffic between the slip roads please remain in your vehicle and await further instruction from traffic officers or emergency services.

"We are working hard to get you back on the move asap.

"Congestion is building.

"Please allow extra time for your journey."

Highways England have said there are currently delays of 50 minutes against expected traffic.

Traffic is expected to return to normal conditions at around 2.30pm.
