Roads along major Brighouse route set to be closed for six weeks for gas works

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is investing £73,000 to upgrade to the gas network in the Halifax Road area of Brighouse.

The ageing metal pipework will be replaced costing £73,000 and will start on August 17.

We can assure customers that we will complete the work as quickly as possible, while following COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The scheme, which has been planned in conjunction with Calderdale Council, will require the following traffic measures:

From August 17, Finkil Street will be closed at the junction of Halifax Road for two weeks, and three way lights will be in place on Halifax Road and Finkil Street.

A full signed diversion will be in place that directs motorists down Halifax Road onto Upper Green Lane and back on to the unaffected part of Finkil Street.

Two way traffic lights will be used to manage the rest of the works on Halifax Road which will span between the junction of Granny Hall Lane and to outside St Chad’s Church.
