Speeding drivers have been caught in these Calderdale districts during police operation

A number of speeding drivers have been caught in Calderdale during a dedicated police operation.

Operation Honeyside focuses on all areas of the Calderdale Valleys tackling the Fatal Four actions that cause car crashes

These are excessive speeding, drink/drug driving, using mobile phone, failing to wear a seat belt.

Officers also monitored other traffic offences

Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have been on patrol at the following locations after listening to complaints from our communities about drivers exceeding the set speed limits:

Cain Lane/ Southowram: Officers dealt with several drivers who have been travelling at excess speed in the permitted 20mph limit zone. The highest speed recorded was 43mph.

Rochdale Road/ Halifax towards Sowerby Bridge – A driver was dealt with for travelling at 44mph in a 30mph zone.

A464 Burnley Rd, Mythlomroyd – Drivers have been dealt with for exceeding the 20mph limit. The highest speed recorded being 39mph

A vehicle was seized from the Kershaw Estate in Luddendenfoot and the driver will be summons to court for driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, no insurance and for fraudulently using a registration mark/ document.

A vehicle was also seized from Cain Lane in Southowram, due to the driver driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Officers will continue to carry out traffic days of actions throughout Calderdale Valleys.
