Pell Frischmann, one of the UKs leading firms of consulting engineers, have created the video above and designs for the project on behalf of Calderdale Council.

Ambitious Elland bypass bridge plan will overcome 'extensive queuing problems'

From late August to mid-September a consultation was held for people to have their say on the A629 Calder and Hebble Junction project.

The engagement campaign included an exhibition of the proposals at the Halifax Central Library, online materials including a survey, and a drop-in session at Clay House in West Vale.

A spokesperson for Calderdalle Council said: "We were really pleased to see that feedback from the event and from our survey was generally positive, with 80% of respondents feeding back that they either support or strongly support our proposals.

"67% of respondents think that the proposals will achieve the project aims of improved employment opportunities, reduced congestion, improved journey times, improved walking, cycling and public transport access, and safer journeys."

The planned major upgrade of the A629 Calder and Hebble Junction has received funding through the West Yorkshire-plus Transport Fund, and the Leeds City Region Growth Deal – a £1 billion package of Government investment through the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP). This particular phase will cost £19m.
