An officer escaped with his life after a nasty smash at a junction in King Cross earlier today.
The British Transport Police car collided with a taxi at 7:54 this morning on Skircoat Moor Road before hitting a set of traffic lights.
The police car’s driver had to be cut free and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, where he was treated for minor injuries and later discharged.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and the taxi’s driver is currently being interviewed.
West Yorkshire Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them on the police non-emergency number 101.
