Update: Video from scene of Todmorden crash

A blue Hiace van travelling from Todmorden crashed into a house opposite Gordon Rigg Garden Centre, on Rochdale Road, at about 7.45am.

Eyewitnesses believe the van skidded on black ice on the road.

The driver of the van was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was taken to hospital for a check-up.

The owner of the property, who was in at the time, was uninjured.

The scene was made safe by fire crews and left in the hands of a structural engineer.

Appliances from Todmorden and Bacup were mobilised, along with the technical rescue vehicle from Cleckheaton.

The crash is one of several which have taken place on Rochdale Road through Walsden this morning as overnight rain and cold temperatures created treacherous driving conditions.
