Updated: Man killed in serious road accident in Todmorden - another taken to hospital
An 18-year-old man died this morning when the car he was in collided with a bus shelter and a tree in Todmorden.
The 17-year-old male driver received serious injuries as a result of the crash, which happened at 3.52am on the A646 Burnley Road near its junction with Cross Lee Road. He has been taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with chest injuries, but is currently in a stable condition.
The police have now launched an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

Hide AdSergeant Ady Newman, who is investigating the incident, said: “I would appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward on the non emergency number 101.”
The road was closed for several hours, but has now re-opened.
