Van engulfed in flames in hotel carpark

A van driver had a lucky escape this afternoon when his van caught fire in a hotel carpark.

The incident happened at the Premier Inn, Wakefield Road, Brighouse at 2.30pm when the driver of a white Peugeot Expert opened up his bonnet only to see his vehicle engulfed in flames.

A fire crew from Brighouse attended and used one pump to extinguish the flames.

No one was injured in the incident.

A west Yorkshire Fire Service spokesperson said the extent of the fire damage made it difficult to determine the cause.
