Yorkshire snow: Closure in place on M62 after lorry jackknifed across all lanes - amber weather warning in place

It happened on he M62 westbound at Junction 23 Outlane to Junction 22 Saddleworth at about 3.50am on Tuesday, February 2.
This caused multiple lorries to become stuck in the snow.
Highways England said the lorry has now been moved to the hard shoulder and traffic is moving as of 6.50am.

Hide AdHowever, it said that the eastbound road remains closed whilst the ploughs continue to work to remove the snow.
West Yorkshire Police traffic officer, known as Traffic Dave on Twitter, was at the scene and urged people to avoid the area.
He said to "avoid it if you can" and was himself escorted back to the station by a Highways England plough. In a Twitter exchange he added: "I doubt I will get home anytime soon".
Elsewhere on the motorways, Highways England has said it is gritting and treating the network.

The AA reports that two lanes are closed due to an accident on A650 Northbound at M1 J41 Carrgate.
The congestion is to Wakefield.
The AA also reports that there is heavy traffic due to accident on A650 Bradford Road at A654 Thorpe Lane.
