Two arson attacks in Rastrick this morning.

ARSONISTS hit twice is Rastrick this morning.

The first fire happened at around 1am on Malham Road, where extensive damaged was caused to the back of an empty terraced house.

The other blaze was reported shortly afterwards at an unoccupied ground floor flat on nearby Sherburn Road.

A wheelie bin was set alight by the entrance to the home.

Police are linking the two fires and are treating both as malicious.

They want to speak to anyone who was in the Malham Road or Sherburn Road areas at around 1am this morning and may have seen something suspicious.

Officers are particularly keen to trace a white man, aged around 18 to 19, who was seen in the area just before one of the fires. At the time he was wearing a baseball cap
