Two casualties suffer smoke inhalation in bedroom fire

Two people received medical treatment for the effects of smoke following a house fire in West Yorkshire in the early hours of this morning.

They were given oxygen therapy by fire crews for smoke inhalation and left in the care of the Ambulance Service following the fire at an address at Towngate Fold in Meltham.

It was a bedroom fire and crews from Meltham and Slaithwaite attended and two fire-fighters using breathing apparatus used a hose reel and positive pressure ventilation to put it out.
