Two cut from their cars after Halifax crash

Two people had to be cut from their cars after a crash in Halifax last night (Tuesday).

Fire crews from Halifax and Illingworth were called to Gibbet Street, at the junction of Thrum Hall Lane at around 7.50pm.

Two cars, a gold BMW and a black Honda Civic, had crashed leaving the drivers of both cars trapped.

Halifax firefighters had to cut the side of the Honda Civic off to free the woman, in her 30s, who was thought to be suffering from abdominal injuries.

Illingworth firefighters freed the male driver of the BMW, in his 20s, who had sustained leg and facial injuries.

Both were taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital by ambulance.

Crews left the scene at around 9.15pm.
