There will be two brilliant bands and one unmissable weekend of live folk music at Square Chapel arts centre, Halifax, on Saturday and Sunday.
The venue is proud of its reputation for presenting a great range of concerts and music for all to enjoy in an inspiring performance space with a relaxed bar atmosphere.
As part of Square Chapel’s diverse music programme, the venue will welcome North Sea Gas on Saturday at 7.30pm and Mawkin on Sunday at 7.30pm.
One of Scotland’s most popular folk bands, North Sea Gas return to Halifax on their Scottish Fire Tour. With great vocals, three part harmonies, fiddle, guitars, bouzouki, banjo and a bagful of traditional folk songs - performed with brilliant banter - a fantastic night of first-class entertainment is on the cards.
North Sea Gas are Ronnie MacDonald, Grant Simpson and Dave Gilfillan.
Fresh off the back of a three times BBC Folk Award nominated collaboration, Mawkin are forging a bold new sound. Members are guitarist David Delarre, drummer Lee Richardson, bassist Danny Crump, fiddler James Delarre and Nick Cooke on melodeon.
Tickets for both shows are available from 01422 349422.
