Two 21-year-olds from Halifax have appeared in court this morning charged with offences relating to an accident Bradford at the weekend which resulted in the death of 12-year-old Bilal Khizar.
Zain Khan and Sara Hughes appeared in the dock together during the hearing this morning (Weds) at Bradford Magistrates Court.
Khan has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice, as well as other motoring offences.
Hughes has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
Police said last night they are both from Halifax, although Deputy District Judge Peter Hollingworth said their addresses would not be revealed.
Hughes wept as she was brought into court for the hearing, which lasted over half an hour.
Both spoke only to confirm their names and dates of birth.
The case was adjourned until October 17 when it will be heard at Bradford Crown Court.
Both were remanded into custody until that date.
The incident happened at around 7pm on Saturday on a crossing near Asda on Rooley Lane.
