The magic of the movies sparkled at the Vue Cinema this afternoon (Sunday) as two very special dresses went on display.
To celebrate the release of Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Frozen Fever’, a replica of the wedding dress worn in the film was on display, alongside the famous dress worn by Elsa in the smash-hit animated film ‘Frozen’.
The stunning gowns dazzled filmgoers as they had photographs taken with the dresses.
The cinema, at Broad Sreet Plaza, worked with Always and Forever Bridal Boutique in Sowerby Bridge to bring the magic and excitement of the films to Halifax.
Carmel Carter, of Always and Forever Bridal Boutique, said: “There’s only 10 stockists of these dresses in the whole country and they are just something else.
“They are not like any other dress, they sparkle from head to foot.
“They are very popular and they are big, big dresses.”
The Disney-inspired dress was unveiled earlier in the month by renowned American bridal company, Alfred Angelo.
The commemorative Cinderella gown is part of the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings collection, which also includes the gown inspired by Frozen’s Elsa along with dresses reminiscent of eight of the iconic Disney Princess characters.
Mark Thompson, manager at the Vue Halifax, said: “We thought it would be a great opportunity for our younger Disney fans to see these famous dresses.
“They looked really good on display and all the little girls wanted to have a look at them, although some of our staff members were more excited than the customers.
“It’s been a good bit of fun for the start of the Easter holidays.”
