Representatives from the Mytholmroyd Flood Group and councillors met with Mr Rogerson to show him the flood store that stocks emergency supplies to voice their concerns about future incidents.

Tony Hodgins, a volunteer of the flood group, discussed how it was crucial that people were prepared with the necessary equipment to downscale damage that can be caused during floods in the Calder Valley.

Mr Rogerson said that the community support is vital in times of flooding and noted that he had seen evidence of this in his time in Mytholmroyd.

“It is really good to see they way the community is sticking together. It is a disaster when flooding happens.”
