And Elland firefighters were called to a flooded property in Ripponden.

Crews built a dam to divert rain and spring water which had flooded the end terrace property at Royd Lane.

The ground floor of the property remains water logged.

Commuters also faced travel disruption after flooding near Todmorden caused delays of up to 15 minutes between Manchester Victoria and Hebden Bridge.

A flood warning was also in place for Brearley and Luddenden Foot last night, but has now been lifted.

A flood alert for the River Calder, from Todmorden to Brighouse, currently remains in place.

A spokesperson for the agency said: “Persistent rain on Thursday saw water levels on the River Calder rise.

“Levels throughout the upper catchment are now falling slowly and will continue to fall for the rest of Friday.

“The forecast is for light showers through today and Saturday with further rain on Sunday and Monday.”
