Video: Halifax gets wet and wild for Overgate Hospice

A giant inflatable slide ran through Woolshops shopping centre as part of a new fundraising event for Overgate Hospice this weekend.

Slip and Slide hit Woolshops in Halifax town centre and saw people sliding their way down the soapy, watery slide to raise money for the hospice, which is based in Elland.

In celebration of the hospice’s 35th anniversary, this new event involved people of all ages and provided a fun and enjoyable way of raising vital funds and awareness.

Slip and Slide went ahead thanks to the kind support of volunteers, the local community and local businesses such as Town Hall Dental, who kindly sponsored the event.

Overgate Hospice, which was founded in 1981, provides specialist palliative care for adults who are suffering from progressive, life-limiting illnesses across Calderdale.

The fundraising team need to raise £6,800 every day to keep the hospice open.
