VIDEO: Man arrested after three car crash in Halifax involving ‘stolen’ vehicle

A man in his 20’s has been airlifted to hospital and arrested following a three car crash which left two other people injured.

Police officers responded to the incident that happened on Westholme Road at 11.03am this morning (Thursday).

Fire crews from Odsal, Halifax and Illingworth attended the scene which involved a suspected stolen white Vauxhall Vivaro van and two other cars.

The suspect who was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

Three parked cars were also damaged in the crash.

A man and woman in a red Hyundai which was involved in the crash were cut free by firefighters and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Thrum Hall Lane and the surrounding area was cordoned off as firefighters freed the injured parties.

Westholme Road has now re-opened following accident investigation work and the recovery of the vehicles.
