Video: Opening day of rally weekend is a huge hit

Thousands of people have packed in to Calder Holmes Park to enjoy the sight of cars, motorcycles and tractors of yesteryear.

The venue in Hebden Bridge is playing host to the first day of Hebden Bridge Rotary Club’s Vintage Weekend and with the weather holding up petrol heads and families have turned out in force to support the charity event.

The event runs until 5pm today (Saturday) and from 10am to 5pm tomorrow (Sunday).

On display today are classic cars from 1970 to 1992; motorcycles and scooters from 1970 to 1992; Rolls Royce and Bentley cars of any age; replica or kit cars of any age; military vehicles; pre-1972 tractors; pre-1970 registered vehicles and an array of novelty vehicles.

While tomorrow, there will be vintage cars up to 1930; post vintage cars from 1931 to 1939; post war cars 1940 to 1971; motor cycles and scooters up to 1971; commercial vehicles up to 1971; American vehicles up to 1971 and military vehicles. There will be prizes for best in class and the usual Sunday morning scenic run.

There are also food and drink kiosks, stalls, fairground rides and entertainment throughout the two days.
