The clean-up operation has now begun in Ripponden after a flood swept down a street in the village.
Fire crews were called to Ripponden Old Bank in the early hours of Tuesday morning, following reports that fast flowing water was cascading from a burst culvert.
When they arrived they found three feet of water flowing down the road and moving cars.
Ripponden Old Bank remains closed as work is carried out on the blocked culvert and residents are now counting the cost of the damage and disruption.
