Pupils at St Augstine’s Junior and Infant School, Hanson Lane, along with their family and friends, came together on Monday, July 20, to celebrate Eid.
The joyful occassion known as the Eid Mela was organised by the school in order to share and celebrate the different cultures of the children.
Many exciting activities took place on the day from the craft area where Eid cards were made, to the game section where pupils enjoyed board games.
The schools new astroturf was home to dad’s football and penalty shoot out. S
talls boasted cupcakes and catering by Suleman Catering, which the school funded as a thank you to the parents for their continued support.
Head teacher Ms Leona Binner, said “ The Mela was a really nice way to say thank you and value the school’s relationships with both the pupils and their family. Everyone had very positive comments about the event and there was great family atmosphere.”
