VIDEO: Tasty treats in store at World Dock Pudding Championships today
The great contest missed a year last year because of a shortage of dock leaves, which gave organisers time to plan a bigger scale event.
Held at Mytholmroyd Community Centre, you can be entertained from 7am to 5pm with a car boot sale, entertainment and a food and drink festival all adding to the day.

For that, and with it the chance of winning the Halifax Courier Cup and a cash prize, cooks have been preparing their own versions of the recipe, using the tenderest young dock plants with additions such as oatmeal.
Dock pudding connoisseurs lined up to judge this year’s contest include Lyn Gledhill of the White Lion (Heptonstall), Bruce Midgley, who is secretary of Pecket Well Leek Club, Lynn Hartley of the Shoulder of Mutton at Mytholmroyd, and Councillor Richard Marshall.
Debbie Robinson of the organising team said: “We’re really looking forward to it being back again and we’ve brought it right up to date by adding the food and drink festival.
“And Hebden Bridge‘s senior and junior bands will be playing music at times throughout the day.”
Real ale at the festival has been sponsored by the White Lion at Heptonstall.
