A vintage bus company in Halifax is to begin new trips to celebrate the region’s beauty by travelling on restored double deckers.
For the last seven years The Yorkshire Heritage Bus Company Limited has transported wedding parties around the country.
And now they are offering bus trips around the region and owner Tony Blackman, 72, said they wanted to celebrate the beauty of Yorkshire with scenic routes above Calder and Hebble Valleys to Skipton and Grassington.
His wife, Carol, 51, admits the whole family has a passion for old buses and are involved in some way. She added:“My grandfather used to take me on buses when I was a little girl. And Tony said if I can pass my bus test I can drive them.” And now she does.
Carol’s daughter Kirsty Halstead, 23, will also be conductor on some of the trips and she said they are trying to offer something a little bit different, away from the usual bus routes. She said: “Vintage Buses are nostalgic and a treasured piece of our heritage.
“Everyone can enjoy the stunning Yorkshire scenery, on a nostalgic trip on magical buses from the bygone era.”
Trips start from November 26.
