Halifax residents have been urged to take part in a marathon walk for Meningitis UK.
The Bridge the Gap walk is 328 miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Bristol.
On Thursday October 6, the walk joins Yorkshire after a 22-mile leg from Ripon to Otley. It then winds its way on a 22-mile trek from Otley to Hebden Bridge.

On August 30 between 10am and 12.30pm join organisers at Wadsworth Community Centre, Billy Lane, Old Town.
Go along to invent your very own creature using modelling clay and then build a scene for them from recycled materials.

Grenville Horsfall, of Victoria Avenue, Brighouse, will be the UK Independence Party candidate for Rastrick at the Calderdale Council elections in May.
He was an active member of the Conservative Party for 50 years until joining UKIP.
