Walks mark Easter significance
As well as church communities hold their own services and celebrations, Churches Together groups in both Todmorden and Hebden Royd held special events.
In Todmorden, the traditional Good Friday Walk of Witness saw a parade make its way from St Joseph’s Church, Wellington Road, Todmorden, through Todmorden town centre to the Peace Garden next to Todmorden Town Hall.

Easter week saw members of Hebden Royd Churches Together take place in a number of events.
On Palm Sunday afternoon, members of the local Churches Together group gathered to put in place the giant Easter cross on the hilltop at Horsehold, which overlooks Hebden Bridge.
Proceedings included a short service led by Father John Gott of the Good Shepherd RC Church, Mytholmroyd.

Then on Easter Sunday they made an early start, heading for the cross at Horsehold at around 6.50am for a special “Sonrise” celebration to mark Christ’s resurrection.
The new cross at Horsehold was made for Churches Together, constructed by joiner David Foullger at the factory premises of Wireform in Hebden Bridge.
The owners, the Morley family, supplied metal components and allowed the use of machinery to make the new cross.
The old one, dating back 30 years, had deteriorated and it was decided that a new cross was needed to replace it.
