Mike Robinson, group marketing manager for Associated Waste Management Ltd, was invited by Beacon Rangers FC to present the awards at the club’s annual junior presentation evening, following his company’s efforts to give the club a ground to be proud of.

The firm, along with Boothtown-based The Leo Group, helped the Southowram club – which plays in the Huddersfield Junior Football League – to create a car park and refurbish its changing facilities and storage areas.

Mike, who was thanked in person by the club at the annual presentation evening, said: “When we became aware of the parking issues Beacon Rangers were facing, we were more than happy to help in any way we could.

“Working alongside The Leo Group, we were able to install a surface that meant up to 35 cars could park easily and safely around the pitch on match-days.

“We also helped with the renovation of the club’s changing rooms and storage areas.

“Beacon Rangers is a great club that gives a lot to the community by supporting over 100 boys and girls, helping them to develop their football skills and teaching them valuable lessons in teamwork.

“We are very proud of our association with them.”

“We were delighted when he accepted, and it was a pleasure to have him with us for this special occasion.

“Thanks to Associated Waste Management, The Leo Group – and the support club members and the public, we now have a fantastic facility – one that is greatly valued by the Southowram community.”
