Watch: Darts champion Scott Waites appears on US chat show

The two-time BDO world champion, who is a carpenter at the Halifax-based firm, flew to America to appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which attracts three million viewers per night.

Colbert, one of America’s biggest talk show hosts, took on Scott in a special match-up and for the 38-year-old repairs inspector it was the opportunity of a lifetime.

“Researchers for the show contacted Pennine and a couple of other places trying to get hold of me,” he said. “I was a bit dubious at first because you don’t expect one of the biggest shows in theStates to want you to appear.”

The show is filmed at the famous Ed Sullivan theatre on Broadway in New York.
