Love a Big Mac and fries? Then your life is about to get a whole lot easier with a nifty new addition to Salterhebble Hill McDonald’s.
In a dramatic transformation of the fast food restaurant, which re-opened on October 20, customers can now have their food delivered directly to their table.
It’s a big departure from the age-old method of ordering and picking your food up at the counter, but a trial last year in 14 restaurants across England showed table service to be successful and popular with customers.
Table service will now be rolled out to more than 400 restaurants across the UK.
Self-order kiosks now feature at the Salterhebble store, giving customers the chance to browse the whole menu.
Once customers have completed their order, they can pay by card or contactless then go straight to a designated area of the counter to pick up their order or take a seat for table service.
To complete the restaurants new look, free-to-use tablets have been installed at some tables.
Franchisee Pritpal Singh started his career at McDonald’s as a trainee manager nearly 33 years ago and now runs the Halifax restaurant as well as 23 restaurants across Yorkshire.
“We’re thrilled with the transformation because we’re committed to offering our customers’ more choice and fast service,” he said.
“Technology has a huge role to play in all walks of life, including our customers’ eating out experience, so the new technology we’ve introduced recognises the way people live their lives today.
“The addition of table service enables customers to order at the self-order kiosk and then sit down at a designated zone to get served. From mums coming in with their kids, to people having a working lunch, I expect the feedback to be positive.”
