A warning for ice this morning has been issued for Calderdale by the Met Office.

Temperatures are not expected to reach above freezing until around lunchtime.

There is also a warning for snow for the rest of the day although it is forecast to stay dry.

Tonight is expected to be a very dry and very cold night with a widespread sharp frost and icy stretches on untreated surfaces.

Patchy freezing fog may form and temperatures will fall to as low as -4 degrees celsius in the early hours of tomorrow.

Schools are thought to be open. Mount Pellon School is urging people to take care as pavements are covered in a layer of snow and ice.

There are no delays reported on trains or buses.
