Strong winds have battered the area all day and this evening winds speeds are expected to get up to 18 miles per hour.

Heavy rain has been falling intermittently throughout the day and more is expected later, but as yet the Environment Agency has issued no flood warnings.

Snow is expected to fall tomorrow from 9am, but is not due to last long.

Tomorrow, disruption is expected on all forms of transport and commuters are urged to leave extra time for journeys.
