Chaos on roads as thunder storms and burst pipes cause flooding

Motorists are being urged to take care on the roads as the thunder storms continue.

There are tailbacks on the A58 in both directions due to flooding. The road is just passable on Whitehall Road in Wyke between Rookes Lane at Norwood Green and Wyke crossroads.

The road is just passable on Mill Royd Street in both directions in Brighouse between the A643 Briggate junction and the A641 Huddersfield Road junction, because of flooding.

There is a burst water pipe in Wakefield Road near to its junction with St Giles Road in Lightcliffe.

And the A644 Wakefield Road is closed in both directions between Brighouse and the A62 Cooper Bridge Road junction, because of a burst water main and emergency repairs. Diversions are in operation - as signed locally.

There has also been reports of a lot of surface water near to the Robin Hood pub in Brighouse.
