Concerns for motorists as bad weather approaches
Yesterday (Saturday) a Yorkshire-wide yellow weather morning for both wind and rain tomorrow (Monday) was issued by the Met Office.
There is the potential for gusts of more than 70mph to hit zones classed as yellow areas tonight, and 20 to 40mm of rain may fall widely within six to nine hours, leading to localised flooding, especially where drainage is impeded by wind-blown debris.

This morning (Sunday) Calderdale Road Traffic Police said drivers across the district should keep an eye on the weather, and factor the bad forecast into their forward planning.
A spokesman for the traffic police said: “Keep very mindful of that and factor it in if it appears to be deteriorating.”
