Halifax Swimming Pool re-opens after leaky roof leads to flooding

Halifax Swimming Pool has re-opened after damage caused in the recent floods caused it to close.

A leak in the roof meant the heavy rainfall caused damage to the sauna, studio and reception areas on Sunday.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Services and Communities, Coun Susan Press, said: “The vast majority of the site is now reopen, including the gym, pool and studio. I’d like to thank staff for their hard work in getting these facilities up and running.

“Unfortunately the sauna remains shut until further notice, as the ceiling suffered extensive damage. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we will do our best to reopen as soon as possible.”
