A Yorkshire-wide yellow weather morning for both wind and rain on Monday has been issued today lunchtime (Saturday) as the district deals with the aftermath of yesterday’s floods.

There is the potential for gusts of more than 70mph to hit zones classed as yellow areas on Sunday night, and 20 to 40mm of rain may fall widely within six to nine hours, leading to localised flooding, especially where drainage is impeded by wind-blown debris.

The Met Office said the public should be aware of the potential for surface water flooding, and that updates on both warnings will be made tomorrow morning (Sunday).
